Laurent Koscielny has refused to rule out a move away from the Emirates amid reports linking him with a switch to Olympic Marseille.
The defender who has been an integral part of Arsenal’s defense set up over the years is being linked with a move back to his homeland, with Marseille preparing a huge bid for his services.
He has now admitted that he is a Marseille fan and refused to squash reports linking him with the French club.
Despite admitting he is happy at Arsenal, he opted against ruling out a move away from the Emirates.
In an interview with Telefoot, Koscielny said:
“I have a contract with Arsenal, I even signed an extension last November until 2020.
“I feel very good over there.
“I have always said that I was a Marseille fan when I was younger. When a mythical club like Marseille contact you, it is good.
“But will I sign for them? I have no idea at all.”
Kos joined us from Lorient in 2010 and has matured into a classy defender under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger. He has easily become one of the Premier League’s best defenders in recent years.
And at 31, it is only normal that he is being linked with a return to his homeland. However, I don’t think such move will happen this summer. Wenger is determined to keep hold of his best players ahead of next season and Kos is definitey one of the best we’ve got at the moment.
