Lucas Perez wants to move away from Arsenal, after a disappointing first season in the Premier League.

The 28 year old striker completed a £17m move from Deportivo La Coruna last August but failed to make an impact at Arsenal after being left out on the bench on several occasion as well as injuries and he is now being linked with a move away from the club.

Although one can’t fault him for his failures because apparently he wasn’t given enough chance as he was just unlucky with Alexis Sanchez’s form as a centre forward.

Wenger had bought Perez for the centre forward role but a “Sanchez experiment” at the centre forward position became the club’s preferred formation for majority of the season.

With the campaign now over, Perez has taken enough time to consider his situation and his agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle, says the striker’s intention is to leave the Emirates.

“The idea is to be able to play for another club,” Lovelle said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“We want to leave and Arsenal already know. Do you know anyone who is happy but has no opportunities?”

The few times Perez have had to come onto the pitch, he showed can definitely play for a top side but it didn’t just work out at the Emirates.

Arsenal are looking to bring in a new striker this summer, which will push the former La Liga sensation further down the pecking order, making it extremely difficult for us to keep him even if we wanted to.

I think Perez leaving will be good for all parties as we can’t afford to keep an unhappy player here but selling him to a Premier League club should be out of it, because such move may come back to haunt us!
