Arsenal are in talks with Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner over a potential contract, with the defender’s Juventus contract set to expire next month.

Sky Sports report that the defender is talking to Arsenal over a potential switch, as Unai Emery attempts to rejuvenate an Arsenal side that failed to qualify for the Champions League yet again.

This follows reports that the defender visited the Arsenal training ground, with Lichtsteiner confirmed he would not be playing in Turin next season.

Lichtsteiner recently said, via Metro:

‘I don’t chase money and I need a place where I’ll have a good quality of life.

My wife and children have to be happy and that wouldn’t be the case in China. I don’t need more money.

Lichtsteiner has been part of one of the most successful Juventus sides of recent history, with the Turin side dominating the Italian League.
