Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
AFC Bournemouth seem not to be the only beneficiaries of their recent capture of Benik Afobe from Wolverhampton wanderers, as reported by the metro.
The striker has completed a £10million move on a four and a half year deal with the Premier league side but a fifth of the fee will be going to the Gunners.
Afobe, 22, came through the youth ranks with the Gunners but never made a first-team appearance for the north London side before being sold to Wolves with 20 percent sell on clause. This was confirmed by top Journalist Alex Richards via Twitter, he said:
Benik Afobe breakdown: 4.5 year deal, £10m fee – £2m to Arsenal. Also potential add-ons (int. apps, Bournemouth staying up).
When questioned about the transfer of his former player, manager Arsene Wenger had nothing but well wishes for the forward.
‘It is a good opportunity for him and I hope he will be successful there,’ Wenger said.
‘Sometimes you have to let people go who are not completely ready for us, knowing that they could be successful.’
‘I am very happy because we have contributed to his success and I hope he will have a long, good career.’
