“Surprised” Moratta Finally Speak Out Following Shock Arsenal Transfer Bid

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.

Juventus has ruled out the sale of Arsenal target Alvaro Morata, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Gunners are said to be interested in signing the 23 year old and are reportedly preparing a bid worth around £26m.

However, Juventus General director Guissepe Marotta has ruled out the sale of the Spanish striker insisting the former Real Madrid man is as important to the squad as ever.

“There is no intention to negotiate with Real Madrid or any other team,”  “We have never thought of selling Morata.

“He is a pillar of this Juventus team, he is a young man who has become increasingly important. We need to keep hold of these types of players.”

The Gunners are reportedly in search of a striker next summer in order to provide competition for Giroud but with Juventus reluctance to sell Morata, the Gunners will have to turn their attention to other targets

The striker joined the Italian side from Real Madrid in 2014 for a fee of about £16m. The striker went on to score 15 goals in all competition for Juventus last season including a Champions League final goal against Barcelona.

His role in the team as been reduced due to increased pressure from Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic.
