And the Telegraph are reporting that the Gunners are monitoring a number of players that can replace the 26-year-old if he leaves.

Wilshere is said to be considering his options, with Everton the latest club to be linked with a move after his contract expires in July.

Arsenal’s chief scout, Sven Mislintat, has made midfield a priority in the summer along with the defence.

Aaron Ramsey is also yet to commit his future and is is still uncertain whether Santi Cazorla will play again after his horrific foot injury.

Max Meyer, 22, is reported to be a target for the Gunners and have been assessing the Schalke midfielder.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep Wilshere after breaking back into the starting XI.

Wilshere has played 31 times in a season that has been less plagued by injury than previous ones.
