Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to reports.
The Bosnia midfielder was linked with a move to Arsenal in the winter transfer window but nothing concrete materialised.
At that time, Pjanic was touted as a replacement for Santi Cazorla who had been injured since November and it is unsurprising that just few days after it emerged that the Spaniard has suffered another huge injury set back, we are being linked with the Juventus man again.
According to Bein Sports via gunnersphere.com, there have been contact between Arsenal intermediaries and Juventus over a deal for Pjanic.
Although, an official bid hasn’t been lodged a fee of about €40m has been suggested.
It’s being claimed Arsenal’s pursuit is at an early stage as Wenger wants to first ascertain if the player and his club would be open to a transfer before stepping up his interest.
Wenger was hoping to have Cazorla fit for next season but the Spaniard’s injury set back means we must start looking out for a replacement.
Pjanic, due to his style of play will be a perfect replacement for Cazorla but it’s going to be a very difficult deal to pull off. A club of Juventus status would not want to lose its best players and Pjanic is definitely one of the best the Turin giants have got.
