Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are closing in on a double deal for Nigerian youngsters Chidiebere Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze according to reports.
The Gunners have been working on a deal for the pair having been impressed by their showings when they turned out for Nigeria en-route to winning the Under 17 World Cup last year in Chile.
The transfer of the youngsters was thought to be in limbo after Squawka reported earlier last week that the General Manager of Diamond Football Academy, who own the players’ economic rights, Prince Apugo, revelaed that the pair have not yet made up their minds on their futures despite the interest of the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger however seems to have done a lot in convincing the duo about moving to the Emirates, as Football Insider now reports that an Arsenal recruitment source has disclosed to them that the London giants have reached an agreement on a double deal for Nwakali and Chukwueze.
The Gunners however have to wait for clearance, work permits and visas for the teenagers to play in the UK, the Insider further claims the Gunners are hopeful they will be in place by the end of next week.
Once granted, both players are to fly into London next week to sign youth scholarship deals with a view of signing professional contracts when they turn 18.
Credit must go to Arsene Wenger who has acted fast to beat rivals Manchester City to the signing of Nwakali who was crowned the most valuable Player of the 2015 U17 World Cup.
