Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal’s hopes of landing a forward after the acquisition of a midfielder in Mohamamed Elneny is proving increasing difficult.
Celta Vigo’s in-form striker Nolito is thought to be a target for the Gunners this winter window as reported by Spanish source Mundo Deportivo. The paper confirmed that the Gunners were more than willing to activate Nolito’s release clause of £13.4 million.
IB Times has however now revealed that Nolito is close to agreeing to a loan deal with La Liga and World champions Barcelona in this winter transfer window with an option of making the deal permanent next summer.
The news comes just days after Barcelona coach Luis Enrique admitted he was looking at possibility of straightening his forward options, he said to The Mirror “If any reinforcements are to come then I believe that right now we need to reinforce the attack. In order for reinforcements to arrive, we’ve got to negotiate and these are always difficult,”
The Spanish forward who has previously spent three years at the Camp Nou has been in fantastic form for Celta this campaign netting an impressive eight goals and registering five assists to his name in just fifteen appearances for Celta Vigo in La Liga this season.
