Tottenham vs Arsenal: Player Ratings, Surprise MOTM & FOTM.

David Ospina – 6.5:

Made some decent stops, but crucially his weak hand allowed Spurs to level. Was really a shame to have his cleansheet run ended. Overall, still a very good performance from the Arsenal number 2 goalie.

Hector Bellerin – 6:

Got caught out of position to many times. Struggled throughout, with his pace rescuing him more than once. Still needs to work on his defensive side.

Per Mertesacker – 5.5:

For a player of his size and calibre and being the captain, he still is not doing enough for his team. Was caught out of place for Kane’s header.

Laurent Koscielny – 6:

Decent performance from the Frenchman, but missed a big chance when heading straight at Lloris.

Nacho Monreal – 6:

Stuck to his task but endured a tough 90 minutes. He’s beginning to look like he is going to be our first choice left back for a while.

Francis Coquelin – 7: MOTM

A solid display from the French youngster but was given little support by Ramsey. Do we still really need a William Carvalho in the summer?

Aaron Ramsey – 5: FOTM

Flop of the match for the gunners honestly. Nowhere near the player that the Gunners saw last season. Gave away the ball to the Spurs too many times and in very dangerous positions. Again and again, he needs to just play football and enjoy the game rather than try to over impress us.

Santi Cazorla – 5:

Could have easily been the flop of the match, but unlike Ramsey, he didn’t give the ball away carelessly to the opponents, however he was too quiet on a day he was expected to turn out in style. A very poor performance compared to his recent games.

Danny Welbeck – 6:

Terrific pace to set up his side’s goal, but faded thereafter. Should not have started the game ahead of Walcott.

Mesut Ozil – 5:

Took his goal smartly, but then followed it with a disappearing act. Three goals in three for the German star.

Olivier Giroud – 5:

Aside from his part in the goal and the several hold-up plays, he offered little else.

Substitutes:

Tomas Rosicky – 6:

Briefly reignited his side upon his introduction, but it did not last long.

Theo Walcott – 5:

No influence on the game.
