Arsenal target Caglar Soyuncu wants assurances over first-team football before agreeing on any transfer.
The 21-year-old Freiburg defender has impressed in the Bundesliga this term and is tipped to be the Gunners’ first signing of the summer.
The Turkey international has only seen regular game time in the German top flight over the last two seasons but any deal is expected to cost in the region of £35m.
However, Soyuncu is keen to ensure guaranteed minutes on the pitch before agreeing on a move to the Premier League.
“For me, it must be a team where I can play first,” he told Ajansspor.
“We will evaluate my chances of playing.
“It’s best to wait. The English league is a very good league.
“Of course I have a goal to play in top clubs.
“Freiburg is the first step. It has been very good for two years.
“A decision will be made in the interests of all of us.”
Arsenal are also reportedly monitoring Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The Greek’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season and he is yet to agree an extension with the club.
