The Gunners are ready to do whatever it takes to beat noisy neighbours Tottenham this transfer window, despite Spurs’ edge of Champions League football.

Arsene Wenger is aware of the fact that he has to spend big to attract players to Arsenal this summer as he prepares to guide his team through a season without the joy of participating in Europe’s elite club football competition.

According to reports in France, Arsenal are ready to do all they can to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

L’Equipe claim the Gunners are wiling to take on rivals Tottenham for the 21-year-old.

Arsene Wenger’s track record with developing French talent at the club is said to be a factor which could sway Lemar.

Although, Spurs could very well spoil Wenger’s party with the lure of Champions league football – a factor which very few players can ignore.

Lemar has had a taste of the competition with Monaco in the just concluded season, and knows to well how much of a privilege it is to take part in it.

It would be interesting to see how things  eventually pan out.

But there are strong reports claiming Wenger won’t give up without a fight for his signature and would even throw in big money as well as using his French connection to get the sensational star. And if there’s one thing the boss hates doing, that’s losing to noisy neigbours Spurs.
