Arsene Wenger has revealed there are plans on ground to renew Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal contract.
The 24 year old midfielder left Arsenal for AFC Bournemouth on a season long loan in August and he will have just one year left in his contract when he returns to the Emirates at the end of the season.
This has alerted several clubs who believe they can convince the midfielder to leave Arsenal next summer when he has just one year left in his contract.
Wilshere hasn’t helped matters either with his public comments about him being uncertain about his Arsenal future.
But Wenger has revealed there are no plans to sell the midfielder, instead we have a plan to renew the midfielder’s contract in January.
“Yes, of course.”
“We have to plan that around the new year [to renew Wilshere’s contract]. I think it was basically in the end a big decision for him to go.
“He gets regular football and now on the observations I get from our people who watch him, he’s getting stronger every week.
“That’s exactly what he needed – to have regular football, maybe not every three days but every week at the start.
“That has helped him a lot to develop and come back to the level he deserves to be at.”
Wilshere has featured in eleven of Bournemouth’s twelve games prior to their visit to the Emirates, meaning he has so far enjoyed regular game time which he wasn’t able to get in the past two seasons.
Gooners are hoping that Wilshere will commit his long term future to the club as many of us see him as our future captain.
He is a product of our wonderful academy and represents the club’s tradition and philosophy. Hence we want him to stay here for many more years and possibly the remainder of his career.
