Arsene Wenger is confident he can lead Arsenal to the Premier League title this season.

The French man is into his 21st season at the Emirates and is chasing his fourth Premier League title. The last one came in 2004 and since then the club only came close to winning the title last season.

Although we finished ten points behind eventual winners Leicester City, we were in the race until the closing stages of the season.

Wenger has now backed the team to go a step further by winning the title this season. The boss feels we now have that mentality to win titles that we have lacked all these years.

Arsenal have been accused of playing with kids over the years and Wenger who admitted a few weeks ago that one can’t win a title with kids believes his players have come off age and are now matured.

“Maturity is what you want to show,” Wenger said. “I believe so, yes, but that’s what we want to show over a longer distance, you know, and that’s what is at stake.

“We now have some difficult games coming up, we have a difficult November, so by the end of the November we’ll know more about ourselves, but the desire and the mentality is great in the side.

“We have a great togetherness and we have quality as well, so they are good ingredients, but we have to show that we can do it week in, week out.

“This win strengthens our belief that we can bounce back from the disappointing result we had last week and that we can also bounce back within a game when it doesn’t go our way.

“Overall I believe it can convince the team that we’re playing the right way.”
