Arsenal are set to renew it’s interest in Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette when the summer transfer window opens in July, according to reports.

The striker was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal last summer but Lyon were reluctant to sell him. They turned down a €35m bid from us and even rejected higher bids from other clubs who were also interested in his services.

However, Lacazette has been speaking about his future of recent and claimed he could use the next transfer window to move to a bigger club.

According to The Daily Telegraph via The Daily Star, Arsenal may try to sign the striker in the summer. However, we would be made to spend big to secure his services because his club has placed a £60m price tag on him.

Should Arsenal meet Lyon’s demands, he will break our club record transfer fee which is the £42.5m paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has also given Arsenal a huge boost by claiming he will consider selling the striker at the end of the season if he receives an acceptable offer.

“We don’t have to do anything, but as we have a squad valued at more than €170m, there will come a time when we have to cash in on that capital,” said Aulas.

“So, as I did with Karim Benzema and Samuel Umtiti, if a player wants to leave and the offer is acceptable, we won’t stand in the way,” he said.

There is no doubt that Lacazette who has surpassed the 20-goal mark in the last four seasons will be a decent signing for Arsenal but for £60m, I am not so sure.

It remains to be seen if Wenger’s uncertain future would affect our interest in the striker.
