West Ham have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports.

West Ham and Arsenal both want to sign a striker this summer and both clubs are now set to go head to head in their attempts to lure one of their top targets, Icardi.

Arsenal are believed to be preparing a £32m bid for Icardi as Wenger attempts to strengthen his strikeforce ahead of next season but West Ham are the ones to have made the first move as the Hammers have already had a bid rejected for the striker, according to Gazetta Dello Sport via the Daily Star.

The report claims Inter Milan will not entertain any bid less than £32m for their captain. The exact fee that Arsenal are willing to pay but West Ham’s interest could drive the price a bit higher.

Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in the striker but the Spanish club along with Arsenal are yet to submit an official offer for the striker.

However, should Arsenal step up its interest, it is expected we will beat both West Ham and Atletico to the signature of the 23 year old who scored 16 goals in 33 appearances last season.
