Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney this summer and are considering axing two first team stars to accommodate the young defender, according to reports.
Tierney has been impressive for Celtic since making his debut in April 2015, the speed of his development has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger and the French tactician is now lining up a summer move for the defender.
The Gunners are planning to carryout a major overhaul of its squad this season and Tierney has been earmarked as a potential arrival.
According to The Telegraph via The Daily Star, a number of players could be allowed to leave as part of the rejuvenation process.
The left back position is one area Wenger wants to strengthen and Nacho Monreal as well as Kieran Gibbs could be ushered out of the club with Tierney coming in as a replacement.
The young defender has impressed Arsenal scouts who have watched him on several occasions this season. He’s scored one goal and provided twelve assists this term, helping his team top the Scottish Premier League table.
However, the Scotland international isn’t expected to come cheap, his contract at Celtic Park doesn’t expire until 2021, meaning his club will be in a stronger position when we open negotiations to sign him.
