Ivan Gazidis unhappy with Wenger’s late Premier League title charge
Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis has admitted he’s “not happy” with arsenal’s late assault on the Premier League.
Arsene Wenge’s side currently sits in second place, seven points behind League leaders and likely winners Chelsea who have a game in hand.
Gazidis, speaking on Arsenal’s title challenge said;
“We are not happy, but we are going to keep pushing to the end to see how far we can go”.
“We are happy with the way the squad has developed and we are very focused on how we can make a positive end to the season.”
Gazidis’ statement comes as a surprise, as virtually everyone has given Wenger’s men praise for their current form that has seen them leapfrog Manchester City to second place on the League table.
Some positives can be taken from Gazidis’ statement however, as he, along with Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke has often been accused as the main culprit of Arsenal’s lack of ambition over the years.
And now, if Gazidis as well as those at the hierarchy at Arsenal see finishing second in the Premier League and a possible FA Cup win as not good enough, it means the fans should expect much more than the popular infamous “fourth place trophy” next season.
