Jack Wilshere could be set for a move to Italy this summer, according to The Express.
Wilshere who is currently on a season long loan at Bournemouth has just little over a year left in his Arsenal contract and this has reportedly placed his long-term future in doubt.
Wilshere left the Emirates last summer due to concerns over his playing time and with Wenger reportedly looking to strengthen the midfield position this summer, the midfielder’s chances at Arsenal is looking very slim.
However, there is an interesting claim by Football tabloid Bleacher Report. They claim Arsene Wenger doesn’t even want to keep Wilshere at Arsenal next season.
Wenger whose Arsenal future is also in doubt is set to sign a new two year deal and the report claims it will throw Wilshere’s future into uncertainty.
This report is surprising because Wenger used to be a big fan of Wilshere and the boss was one of the few persons who stood by the midfielder when he was out injured in the last two seasons.
According to the report, Wenger is prepared to let Wilshere leave this summer, rather than extend his contract and Italy is being touted as his likeliest destination.
AS Roma, Manchester City and AC Milan have been linked with the midfielder this season but the report claims a move to the Etihad is unlikely, meaning a move to Italy could be his only escape route out of the Emirates.
This is surprising because Wenger has always been vocal that Wilshere’s long-term future is at the Emirates.
The midfielder is Arsenal’s best academy product in recent years and is still expected to play a key role in our first team. Staying fit has been his only problem and if we can take care of that, he will definitely be one of our best players.
I don’t think Wenger with his current relationship with the fans will decide to sell Wilshere. The 25 year old is a fan favorite at the Emirates and the boss will not want to damage is already severed relationship with Gooners by selling him.
Wilshere won’t leave Arsenal this summer. My two cents!
