Arsene Wenger has tipped Granit Xhaka to play a huge role for Arsenal in the future. The Switzerland international was signed from Borussia Monchenglabach  in May and is currently adapting to life in the Premier League.

Xhaka has been impressive for Arsenal so far and Wenger has backed him to improve further and become a key player in the future.

“Every week he [Xhaka] is stronger and better. I think he will play a big part,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“He has the stature, the power the strength. Many players it took some time to get into the team, it happens. Look, in one or two occasions [he struggled]. I think he has adapted quite well. His physical strength and power allows him to pretend to play straight away.

“I prefer him as a box-to-box player. He has the engine to have an impact with his runs. He is highly focused. Elneny as well, both of them are focused and top, top quality.”

Despite Xhaka’s impressive start to life in the Premier League, he hasn’t started in all of the Gunners’ games so far and Wenger has revealed the midfielder is still adapting to life in the Premier League.

“It’s not about his quality at the moment. He’s adapting to the pace of the English game. For me it’s about pairs as well – Coquelin and Cazorla have played a lot together. They have 50 or 60 games together and sometimes that has an impact on my decisions.

Xhaka has the quality to become a top player for Arsenal as he has shown already, he showed that against Hull City on Saturday, scoring his first goal for the club with a well taken strike.
