Reports from the Sun Suggest Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in signing Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette as the French club are closing in on Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore.

Traore is on the brink of signing a £16million move to Lyon after having impressed last season on loan at Ajax.

The 21-year-old made 12 appearances for the Blues in the 2015-16 campaign but has struggled to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.

He helped Ajax reach the Europa League final, and finish second in the Dutch Eredivisie league last term.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had previously said they were in ‘advanced talks’ with the Stamford Bridge club over Traore.

‘We want to bring Bertrand Traore to the club,’ Aulas told reporters at a press conference to unveil the club’s newest signing, defender Fernando Marcal.

‘There are advanced talks there, but many clubs are interested. We absolutely want to do the deal.’

Now reports reveal Lyon are on the verge of accepting a formal offer from Arsenal worth €50m, the two clubs will meet next weekend in an attempt to close a deal, with President Aulas holding out for €60m.
