Charlton Athletic have placed a price tag on Arsenal target Ademola Lookman, according to reports.
Lookman, who is regarded as one of Charlton’s hottest prospects has been attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs since he made his first team debut last November and Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs that have reportedly been monitoring the player.
We were even rumored to have made an attempt to sign the striker in the last transfer window but Charlton were reluctant to sell.
Lookman ended up staying with the Addicks and has continued to impress his suitors, netting two goals in Charlton’s FA cup win over Scunthorpe in early November.
Everton are the latest club to have declared its interest in signing the player and they reportedly made a verbal offer of £7m but were turned down by the player’s club.
According to The Mirror via The Daily Star, Charlton wants £10m for the 19 year old striker.
Arsenal are still very much interested in the young striker and our scouts were present at Charlton’s game last weekend to watch the lad. Although, Everton now lead the race to sign the player, it is expected that we will continue to monitor the lad’s development with a view to making a bid in the future.
The player’s contract at Charlton doesn’t expire until 2020, meaning his value will continue to rise if he keeps improving and we could be forced to pay more than £10m by the time we decide to step up our interest.
