Arsenal are willing to pay as much as £50m to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for the signature of Swedish star Emil Forsberg, this is according to report.

Unai Emery is the market for top-notch players as he has set his sight on bringing back the glory days for Arsenal. The Gunners have been linked with a plethora of players in the window but Arsenal’s interest in Forsberg stems from last summer when they were heavily linked with a move for him.

Arsenal sold Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott in the January transfer window and currently, they do not have any out-and-out winger to complement their already potent final third. Forsberg will enable Emery to utilise the wing position in a system that will see the Gunners retain more possession.

According to Swedish publication Expressen, Arsenal are weighing on a deal for the 26-year old winger who is valued at  £50m. The report claims that Arsenal will table their offer for the player soon.

However, Arsenal have to ward off interest in the player from Liverpool, who are also heavily linked with the signing of the player.

Forsberg has been in discussion with his Bundesliga club over a new deal and an agreement is not yet in sight for the move – this has left Arsenal in pole position to snap up a deal for him.

Forsberg revealed that might quit Leipzig after their final game of the season when he tweeted.
