2nd Signing: Arsenal Set To Pull Off Another Major Transfer Coup With Capture Of London Rivals Star

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.

Arsenal are set to pull off a transfer coup with the capture of highly rated versatile Chelsea defender Ola Aina.

The contract of the youngster who can feature both at the centre of defence and on the right is due to expire in the summer.  The player has so far refused the idea of signing a new deal and that has seen the 19-year-old demoted from Chelsea’s first-team set-up to their U21s, edging him closer to the exit.

The impending departure of out of favour right back Mathieu Debuchy coupled with the uncertain future of Carl Jenkinson despite the renewal of his contract in the summer has led Wenger searching for an able deputy to first choice Hector Bellerin.

The Mirror initially reported that Arsenal want to bring the player across London in the summer, The Metro has now gone on to add that the Gunners have gazumped rivals Liverpool in the race for his signature.

Aina, 19, who featured in every round of Chelsea’s under-19s’ successful UEFA Youth League campaign last season was included in Jose Mourinho’s pre-season tour to the US ahead of this term.

The Gunners would however have to act quickly to beat the competition as the Express further claims European giants Napoli and Borussia Dortmund also hold an interest in the youngster’s signature.
