Arsenal are planning to make a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

Sanchez’s contract expires at the end of next season and he has so far refused to sign a new deal, with reports claiming he has set his heart on a move to Manchester City.

Although, Wenger has publicly insisted the forward is not for sale, reports claim we are privately resigned to losing him.

Arsenal are now in search of possible replacement for the Chilean and according to Tribal Football via The Daily Star, The Gunners fancy a move for Aubameyang.

The report says Arsenal are yet to firm up its interest in the striker but he is firmly on the club’s radar.

However, we could face competition from Liverpool who are also big admirers of the forward. Jurgen Klopp is keen to reunite with the Gabonese hitman whom he worked with at BVB but Arsenal reportedly have an edge in the race to sign the striker.

Yesterday, we covered a report claiming Aubameyang will only prefer to join Arsenal if he moved to the Premier League and that should give us an edge in the race to sign the striker, if that claim is true.

Aubameyang finished last season as Bundesliga ‘s top scorer, netting 24 goals throughout the course of the campaign and he is expected to cost around €70m.
