Juventus have made a formal approach to sign Arsenal target Corentin Tolisso, according to reports.

Arsenal are believed to be big admirers of Tolisso and he is reportedly one of the few players in Ligue 1 that Wenger is keeping an eye on.

The French midfielder has been impressive for Lyon this season and has attracted to lot of top clubs.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs that have been impressed by the midfielder’s performances and the Sun reckon we could make a bid to sign the player before the January transfer window shuts.

However, Calcio Mercato via the Sun claim it is Juventus who are currently leading the race to sign the midfielder.

The Italian giants have launched a £36m bid to sign the midfielder and have already agreed a four year deal with the player’s representatives.

The report claims Juve are aware of Arsenal’s interest in the midfielder and they are willing to do anything to keep him out of Wenger’s reach.

Tolisso is a centre midfielder by trade but is also comfortable playing on the right side of defense which would make him the perfect January signing for us.

A combination of injuries, suspension and international duty have made us light in centre midfield while the impending exits of Mathieu Debuchy and Carl Jenkinson would make us short at right back also. A player like Tolisso will provide cover for us in both position and maintain our strength in depth going into the crucial part of the season.

However, I don’t think Wenger who has ruled out making any big signing this month will go all out to rival Juve for the French man’s signature. I wish he would though.

Juve are well ahead in the race and are the likeliest destination for the player.
