Reports claim Arsenal are planning a deal for Stoke goal stopper  Jack Butland ahead of summer.

Petr Cech kept Tottenham to just one goal in Arsenal’s defeat to rivals Tottenham yesterday with a string of saves.

But the 35-year-old is coming to the end of his fine career and the Gunners view Butland as an ideal replacement.

The Sun claims Stoke value Butland at £40m and will not want to lose him for less.

The two clubs will go head-to-head in the summer to land the England goalkeeper, according to The Sun.

He has kept four clean sheets and conceded 46 goals in the Premier League so far this season.

Should they sell, Stoke would make a healthy profit on the player they signed from Birmingham City for just £3.5m in 2013.
