Arsenal could attempt to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.

Wenger is very interested in signing a top striker this summer and had hoped to complete the signing of Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy. The Foxes striker is now leaning towards staying at Leicester and Wenger is prepared to turn his attention to other target.

According to the Mirror via HITC sport, Arsenal could turn to Robert Lewandowski should we fail to sign Jamie Vardy.

Lewandowski scored 42 goals in 50 appearances for Bayern Munich last year and is next on Wenger’s wish list.

Should Vardy disappoint Arsenal and Wenger manage to pull off the signing of Lewandowski, it would be a blessing in disguise as Lewy is two years younger than Vardy and has a number of superb season under his belt unlike Vardy who broke into the scene last season.

Lewandowski  is reportedly open to the idea of moving to the Premier League and the Poland striker is said to be keen on testing himself in England’s top competition.

However, any move for Lewandowski would be difficult as Bayern Munich are adamant they won’t sell their star striker.

Should Bayern decide to sell, Arsenal will not be the only one in the race to sign the striker as Real Madrid have also been linked with the former BVB man. There could also be rivalry from England as Manchester United have been linked with the striker in the past.

I think it is very clear now Wenger cannot attract or sign any of the top world class players and it looks impossible that Robert Lewandowski, who is one of the top strikers in Europe will leave a winning club like Bayern Munich and join Arsenal under Wenger who has not won the championship for 15 years . Arsenal will suffer again during the last year of Mr Wenger’s contract. We hope the board will not commit another danging mistake by extending Wenger’s contract for more two years .
