Alexis Sanchez has accepted he will have to stay at Arsenal this season as Wenger remains uninterested in selling him this month.

The striker who is yet to sign a contract extension on his current deal which expires next summer, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates but Wenger has refused to entertain any bid for his services.

Despite several attempts by the player’s entourage to force Wenger hands, the boss maintained his stance that the striker isn’t for sale and that has now forced Sanchez to accept he won’t be allowed to leave the Emirates this month.

According to the Mirror, Sanchez is dropping hints to his colleagues and friends that he would be staying at the Emirates this season.

While this will excite some Gooners, it is sad to note that the Chilean harbors the intention of leaving as a free agent next summer.

Sanchez believes he is likely to secure a more lucrative offer next year than he would get this summer.

Manchester City were reportedly keen on waiting for the Chilean until the end of the transfer window, incase Arsenal decides to sell but Sanchez’s body language has now landed them a huge blow – albeit a temporary one.

It is Arsenal who may suffer the biggest blow at the end if Sanchez goes on to be important for us again just like he was last season and then leave for free. It will be one of the most painful exits in the club history, especially as he isn’t the kind of player we can easily replace.

Yes, players come and go but losing Sanchez for nothing when it would cost us almost €100m to replace him will be too tough to take.
