Report from the Metro claims Arsenal have made Caglar Soyuncu a target this summer with the defender’s agent confirming he is already pushing for a move to the Premier League.
Soyuncu has made 47 appearances for Freiburg since joining the club in 2016 but the 21-year-old is being heavily linked with the Gunners ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
BBC claims Arsenal are closing in on an agreement for Soyuncu, with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat a keen admirer of the Turkey centre-back. Soyuncu’s agent, Mustafa Dogru, has now revealed that he has held talks with several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Speaking to football.london, Dogru said: ‘The main objective of the player is to play in the Premier League, that I can tell you at the moment ‘We are negotiating with some clubs, but I can’t give the name of the clubs – I’m sorry.
‘Next week we will have some meetings and I think in 10 or 15 days his situation will be clear. ‘They (Freiburg) are open to negotiations.’ It’s understood Freiburg are demanding a fee of around £35million for the highly-rated Turkey international.
Freiburg director Jochen Saier claimed the rumours of an imminent move to Arsenal are ‘total nonsense’. Asked about the speculation earlier this month, Saier told Bild: ‘This is total nonsense. Arsenal did not contact me and there is no offer.’
