Lucas Perez’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez has rubbished claims that the striker could be shipped out on loan in the winter transfer window.
Corriere Dello Sport published an article yesterday, claiming that the striker will be allowed to leave the Emirates on loan in the new year after struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League but his agent has poured cold water on that report, saying Wenger is happy with the striker.
Perez has struggled to make an impact at the Emirates since he joined in late August despite Alexis Sanche -a make shift centre forward being the club’s only fit striker.
Although he is currently out with an ankle injury, Olivier Giroud has since returned from his own injury to make an impact in the team.
That coupled with the impending return of Danny welbeck, Perez could find himself further down the pecking order when he returns from injury but his agent is adamant that the striker will not be leaving the Emirates in January.
“He’s not playing because he is injured,” Llovelle told Italian website Calcio Mercato, via The Express.
“He has no intention of leaving, Arsenal and Wenger are very happy with him. Maybe try asking them!
“He’s only thinking about Arsenal at the moment.”
Considering how difficult it is to sign top players in the winter transfer window, it is unlikely that Wenger will allow any of our players leave in the winter transfer window.
Perez will also get his chance to impress in the second half of the season, when the games are coming in thick and fast, so I don’t expect him to leave until next summer at least.
AC Milan and Napoli are already being linked with a move for the striker.
