The agent of AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has revealed that his client is open to a move away from the Serie A club, paving the way for Arsenal and other interested clubs to make a move for him.
Bacca was a target of Premier League clubs including Arsenal in the last summer transfer window but Wenger opted to sign Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna instead.
West Ham also tried to sign him but for whatever reasons, he wasn’t able to complete a move away from the San Siro. Just few months after the failed summer switch, his agent has now revealed the striker is still interested in a move away from Milan.
“Carlos is a forward who at this moment is priceless,” Bacca’s representative, Sergio Barila, told Colombian publication El Heraldo, as reported by Football Italia .
“Of course there are many offers for him and if he continues like this then he’ll be worth more than the €30m proposed over the summer.
“He is happy at Milan and Milan are happy to have kept hold of him. But if interesting offers were to arrive, the situation could change.”
Bacca has been prolific since he joined AC Milan and has averaged a goal in every two games for the Italian club, which isn’t a bad stat for the striker.
Arsenal are not in desperate need of a striker as Alexis Sanchez has fitted perfectly well into the centre forward position but like every big club, we would do well with a quality option like Bacca.
The downside about moving for the Colombian would be his price tag and his age. He is already 30 and Milan are expected to demand at least £26m for his services, that could discourage Wenger from making a move for the Colombian.
However, we wouldn’t be surprised if we are continually linked with the striker in the future, he has proven to be a consistent goal scorer over the years but I’d like to think the same reasons Wenger passed up the opportunity to sign him last summer will cause him to do same again.
