Arsenal have made contact with the representative of OGC Nice midfielder Jean Micheal Seri, according to reports.

Last week, reports claimed Seri was one of the numerous midfielders on Wenger’s radar, following his superb performances this just concluded season.

The Gunners are apparently in the market for a new centre midfielder, a successor to Santi Cazorla – who has missed the majority of the last two seasons with injury.

And Seri alongside Malaga’s Pablo Fornas have been mentioned as the club’s main targets.

Latest developments now show Wenger has decided to pursue a move for Seri. Respected football Journalist Ed Aarons revealed on twitter that Arsenal have held talks with Seri’s agent.

A centre midfielder by trade, Seri scored seven goals and provided nine assists last season as he helped Nice secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

Barcelona, Tottenham and Roma have all been linked with the midfielder.

Nice wants to keep hold of the midfielder for next season’s Champions League but reports suggest a bid in the region of £35m could force them into selling.

Wenger and Ivan Gazidis were spotted in Nice recently and it could be that they were there to open talks with the French club about the transfer of the player.
