Arsenal have been dealt a massive transfer blow with reports that summer midfield target has agreed a deal with rival club.

According to Goal, Manchester United have agreed terms on a move to bring Ilkay Gundogan from Bundesliga to the Premier League.

This report will come as bad news to Arsenal who have interest in landing the midfield pass-master this summer.

Earlier this month, Arsenal were reportedly in talks with Ilkay Gundogan’s family over a summer move to the Emirates despite the German already believed to have agreed a deal with Manchester United.

The 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder had already made clear his intentions to exit the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season prompting keen interested from several top clubs.

It was earlier reported that United are somewhat reluctant in pushing through the deal for the central midfielder due to his poor injury record, placing Arsenal on red alert.

SportBild further reported earlier this month that Arsenal officials were locked in talks with Gundogan’s family, and a deal is now close in favour of Arsenal.

But any move from Arsenal for the German international seem all but lost now that the player looks almost certain to move to United at the end of the season.
