Ian Wright believes Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could leave the club this summer should the club fail to win the Premier League.

Wenger’s future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks with some sections of the Gunners fans calling for him to step down as the club’s boss.

According to the Express, Ian Wright believes this could be Wenger’s last season at the Emirates should he not win the league title.

When asked if he thinks Wenger would be in charge of the Gunners next season,

Wright said: “I think if they finish the season, especially with the season how it’s going with Leicester and Tottenham above them.

“Arsenal coming out the Champions League, out the FA Cup and if they just finish third or fourth again, I think the natives are turning. They’ve turned.

“There’s more people that want the boss out at the moment than they want him in.

“I’m not sure if he will still be there in the summer, depending on if they don’t win the league.”

Wright was then asked if he thinks the Gunners would be better of sticking with Wenger irrespective of their final position on the league table, he added: “It’s a very tough one for me.

“I think changes are coming. At some stage it’s got to happen and I think something’s got to happen with Arsenal this season.”

Wenger’s contract at Arsenal expires at the end of next season and the French man has claimed he will only step down when he thinks it is the right time.

Arsenal currently sit 11 points behind league leaders Leicester City with a game in hand.
