West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal forward Theo Walcott at the end of the current campaign.
The England International who was heavily criticized for his performance against Manchester United last month was dropped to the bench against Swansea three days later. And now, reports are circulating that he could leave the Emirates at the end of the season should he not play an important part in the Gunners title race.
Walcott, 26, is expected to be among England’s squad traveling to France for the Euro 2016 championships where he is expected to be play a major role in the Three Lions Squad.
According to Brentwood Gazette, West Ham are interested in signing the forward this summer and are preparing a bid worth as much as £26m to secure his services.
Walcott has always stated his desire to play as a centre forward and West Ham’s boss, Bilic is reportedly willing to give him the centre forward role at Upton Park.
However, Bilic still has little doubts concerning the striker’s injury record as the West Ham boss feels it could be a risky signing; but he is prepared to take the gamble with a bid in the region of £20m at the end of the European championship.
Walcott who recently celebrated 10 years at Arsenal in January after he signed for the club from Southampton when he was 16 could be tempted by the opportunity of being the main man at West Ham.
Walcott has scored 54 league goals for Arsenal in 228 appearances since joining the club in 2006.
