Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has returned to the Emirates after suffering a serious knee injury that ruled him out of action for the rest of the season.
The defender who was at West Ham on a two year loan deal was supposed to return to the Emirates at the end of the season but his injury has forced him into an early return to the Emirates, according to Talksport’s Ian Abraham via the Metro.
The defender who has made 23 appearances for the Hammers this season was expected to play a major part for the east London club this season but his injury has led to a premature end of his time at Upton park.
According to the report, the defender will return to the Emirates to continue his rehabilitation and should the defender recover ahead of time, he would replace Mathieu Debuchy who joined Bordeaux on loan last month in the Gunner’s squad.

West Ham had already brought in Sam Bryam from Leeds United during the last winter transfer window, although the young defender was signed in preparation for next season but will be thrown into the frame of action sooner than expected.
