West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Theo Walcott at the end of the current campaign.
Walcott, 26, is expected to be among England’s squad traveling to France for the Euro 2016 championships where he is expected to play a major role in the Three Lions squad.
According to Brentwood Gazette, West Ham are interested in signing the forward this summer and are preparing a bid worth as much as £26m to secure his services.
Walcott has always stated his desire to play as a centre forward and West Ham’s boss, Bilic is reportedly willing to give him the centre forward role at Upton park.
Bilic believes the winger will be a good value for money and he is prepared to table a bid in the region of £26m at the end of the European championship.
However, West Ham will need more than £26m to convince Wenger, who has revealed he is not interested in selling the pacy winger.
When asked about speculations surrounding Walcott’s future, Wenger said: “I like that we live in a society where people always want new faces and new names, but we forget sometimes the loyalty, cohesion and the long-term phase that is needed in a player to be successful at the club.
“You need players through the generations and I’m very pleased with him.
“He’s been here for 10 years, that shows as well that he loves Arsenal and I’m convinced he will give us much more in the next five years than the last five because he is a player who is always moving forward and trying to do better. He has a very positive attitude.”
