The transfer of Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has taken another twist as the French international is now open to the idea of moving away from the Premier League, according to reports.
The defender was reportedly close to a move to Aston Villa and is now set to move to the Bundesliga after Villa refused to pay the player’s loan fee.
The defender had confirmed he had talks with Villa Boss Remi Garde and refused to rule out the possibility of moving to villa park:
“Aston Villa are in great difficulty, and that’s why I’m taking time before making a decision. They’re a big English club, and I’m not ruling out the possibility. I have also talked to Remi Garde over the phone.”
And now, according to Calciomercato via Sport witness, Debuchy is prepared to move to Bayer Leverkusen since Villa has refused to pay his loan fee.
The report claims Arsenal have placed a loan fee of £1.25m on the defender which is proving a problem for Remi Garde’s men.
Debuchy is keen on a move away from the Emirates after losing his place to Hector Belerin who has been superb for the Gunners since making his debut for in 2013.
