The Gunners have been in superb form through out this season, dismantling teams with fine displays and giving their fans reasons to cheer. However, It is consistently becoming a tradition for the Gunners to show its clumsy side right at the summit.
Gunners’ Boss Arsene Wenger has backed his current squad to deliver the title this term, saying “he has confidence in his team and his players have the right mentality to win the title, even if media doubt their credentials” but if the North London club will win the Barclays Premier League title this term it is dependent on the French man’s decision.
Notwithstanding, the Boss is already busy in the transfer market, after admitting he is “short of options” at the middle of the pitch and he is on the verge of sealing a deal that will see FC Basel’s Mohamed Elneny move to the Emirates, as per the Guardian.
Should Arsenal want to finally lift the league trophy that has eluded them since 2004, Wenger must look to Strengthen his strike force and his back line.
Well, credit must be given when due, the Gunners starting backline have done well this term but the quality of depth may become a big factor in the later stage of the season.
With Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers itching for a move away from the Emirates, the Gunners would do well by signing a versatile defender with quality who would strengthen their defence line, Genoa defender Armando Izzo which the Gunners have been monitoring for the majority of the season could be a good fit.
Although the injured Francis Coquelin has shown his relevance to the team but the likes of Mathieu Flamini and Mohamed Elneny will take cover before his return to fitness again meaning another area Wenger should look to improve is the firepower in attack.
After an injury picked up by Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud became the club’s undisputed first choice striker, although the French international has repayed Wenger’s faith in him with series of superb performances especially the one he produced against Olympiakos in the final game of the UCL group stage, it would not be a bad idea if Arsenal went for a cheaper option like Javier Hernandez as cover for Oliver Giroud and guide the team to glory.
