Arsenal vs Swansea City. 11th May 2015. Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s unbeaten Premier League run was halted tonight at the Emirates Stadium as Gary Monks’ Swansea side grabbed a late winner against a rather unlucky Arsenal side.
The Colombian put up a decent performance tonight. He cannot be blamed for the poor aerial defending that led to Swansea City’s goal.
The Spaniard had a good game tonight. The only blemish was his poor defending that led to the cross that produced the goal for the Swans.
The captain will surely feel bad that his team lost at home despite putting up a decent fight. He had a good game tonight. But as captain, he should take bulk of the blame for letting that cross get through to Gomis for the goal.
The Frenchman just as his captain had a very good game but should be blamed for allowing Gomis the header that led to the goal.
Monreal was on top of his game and made sure he kept the opposition out all through. He also did well going upfront and could have had his name on the score sheet if not for an in-form Fabianski.
The Frenchman had a very rare quiet game tonight. Could it be fatigue setting in? He had to be substituted in the second half for a more attacking Wilshere as Arsenal searched for a goal.
The little magician wanted a goal today but the Swans kept throwing bodies to block his shots. He will fancy one against United in the weekend.
Ramsey: 7.5 [MoTM]
The workaholic Welshman! Ramsey was everywhere tonight, making tackles, passes and decent run towards Swansea’s defence. He is definitely the man of the match tonight.
The German was behind nearly all of Arsenal’s attack and will be sad that his side couldn’t convert any of the chances he created tonight.
There’s no surprise with his work rate for the team tonight. However, he will regret not hitting the ball harder than he did when he found the ball at his feet inside the Swan’s 18-yard box.
Giroud: 5.5 [FoTM]
The Swansea defence gave the Frenchman no peace tonight, not even an inch for him to operate. He had to make way for Theo Walcott in the second half.
He changed the game immediately he was brought in. You would think that he would have done a lot more had he started the game. Best sub tonight.
Just as Giroud, Walcott was given no room to operate. The Swansea defenders kept him quiet till the end.
