David Ospina is closing in on a move to Fenerbahce.
The Columbia international has struggled to displace Petr Cech as the club’s first choice. He has become frustrated with the bit-part role and is now closing in on a move to Fenerbahce.
Last week, reports claimed the Turkish outfit has agreed a £3m deal with Arsenal and it is now likely that the move could be completed as early as this week.
According to Fanatik via The Daily Cannon, Ospina is set to undergo a medical at Fenerbahce this week.
The 28 year old will also sign a four year deal with the Turkish outfit.
Ospina made just 14 appearances for Arsenal this season with only two of these coming in the Premier League. He gave a good account of himself in all of those appearances and will be a big loss when he leaves.
Ospina’s exit will throw Arsenal’s plans into dilemma as Wojciech Szczesny – another goalkeeper on Arsenal’s book is expected to leave the club permanently this summer, leaving Martinez as Cech’s only back up.
Wenger will now have to decide whether to keep Martinez as back up to Cech or delve into the market for a new back up goalie.
Gooners, what do you suggest Wenger do in this situation as it seem both Szczesny and Ospina could leave Arsenal this summer?
