Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reported to be ready to offer midfielder Jack Wilshere a new contract.
The new deal is reported to be a five year extension and will keep the England international at Emirates all through his peak years as a player.
The Daily Star via the Metro reports that the 24-year-old will sign a new deal worth £110,000-a-week, which will keep him at the club until 2021. The new deal which incorporates a £20,000 wage rise will see the midfielder earn a mammoth £31.5m across the next five-and-a-half years at Arsenal.
There is no doubt that Wilshere who is Arsenal through and through having come through the Arsenal academy and schooled the Arsenal way deserves such pay when you look at obvious talent whenever he takes to the field.
The deal is expected to however raise some eyebrows due to midfielder’s persistent injuries. Wilshere has been dubbed by some of the Arsenal faithful as the next Abou Diaby, they are aided in the debate by the fact that the midfielder is yet to take to the field all season.
Wenger however rates the midfielder very highly having promoted him to the first team since he was a teenager, the manager believes Wilshere will eventually overcome his injury woes.
The manager is also very much keen to keep Wilshere at the Emirates with expected departures of midfield trio Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Thomas Rosicky when their contracts come to an end in June.
