Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has made a case for Tottenham Hotspur to finish above City rivals Arsenal and Chelsea on the Premier league log.

Arsenal were the dominant force from London in the Premier league during the days of Arsene Wenger. Chelsea also assumed the status of one of the biggest clubs in the Premier league, and it was difficult for Tottenham to get past the aforementioned clubs in terms of winning the title.

Nonetheless, Mauricio Pochettino led Tottenham to finishing above Arsenal and Chelsea on the table but despite qualifying for Champions league in the past three seasons, the Lilywhites have not strengthened their squad.

The Fans of Tottenham are displeased with the inability of the club to reinforce their squad and majority of pundits have tipped them to drop out of top four places this term. Tottenham have six points from two league games and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has made a title case for them.

“I think Tottenham, over a period of two or three years, have been consistent enough and still retained all their best players for us to show a level of belief for us to think they should be in the top four again.

“They’ve won our trust, they’ve performed season in and season out, it’s a brilliant performance by Mauricio Pochettino there with no budget, no budget.

“We said last year would they finish in the top four, with the Champions League, the Wembley factor, now we’re saying it again, having to change stadiums again, not signing any players, players coming back late from the World Cup – it’s a big challenge, but one thing he has is great spirit, great work ethic, a good team and they perform year in year out.

“This is the most consistent and best Tottenham team by an absolute street that we’ve seen in my lifetime, an absolute street They’re a joy really, the players keep coming and doing it again and again and they overcame these challenges last season.”
