Arsenal have reportedly completed the signing of Bolton defender Rob Holding, according to reports.
The Gunners have been linked with the defender since the end of last season and Wenger is now close to getting his man after the club agreed a fee with Bolton.
Arsenal had two bids rejected for the defender earlier in the summer but reports emerged over the weekend that the Gunners were prepared to offer a third bid worth around £2.5m and it appears the new bid has been successful.
According to The Bolton news via the Daily Star, the defender had a medical at Arsenal on Monday evening after both club’s reached an agreement. He will now discuss personal terms with the club this week before completing his move to the Emirates.
The defender made 30 appearances for the Trotters last season and is highly rated by the league one club. His impressive performances last term led to him scooping the club’s player of the year award.
Tottenham were believed to be interested in the defender but Holding had already set his heart on a move to the Emirates.
Holding is regarded as one of the best British talents in the country, he is not expected to go into the starting xi straight away but his potential is immense and is definitely one for the future.
