Arsenal are keen to replace Arsene Wenger with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, according to reports.
The 44 year old is currently at Bayern Munich but his contract at Bayern is set to expire at the end of the current campaign. Premier league giants and European heavyweights are interested in the 44 year old should he not renew his stay at the German capital.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in the 44 year old.
Bayern Munich are desperate to keep him in Germany and he has recently admitted that he could extend his contract at Bayern beyond this season.
Marca reports that Arsenal has identified Guardiola as the ideal man to replace Arsene Wenger when the French man’s contract expires at the Emirates. Wenger’s contract at the Emirates expires in 2017.
The newspaper also claims Guardiola could extend his Bayern deal by a year or take a break from football for 1 year, making him available to take over from Wenger when the French’s man contract expire at Arsenal.
Guardiola is heavily linked with a move to the premier league and former Arsenal player Thierry Henry believes the Spaniard will be moving to the EPL should he leave Munich:
‘I think Guardiola will end up training in England. He is a born competitor and wants to win in several countries…by the way, he already speaks English,’ he told Sky Sports.
