The futures of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi are up in the air after the pair have failed to live up to their hype since joining the Gunners, the Evening Standard reports.
Both Mustafi and Xhaka joined Arsenal in the 2016 summer transfer window as Arsene Wenger looked to rebuild the spine of his squad.
However since their signings Arsenal have fallen out of the Premier League’s top four in two successive seasons with the club now looking set to search for a new centre-back and central midfielder this summer.
After spending £34million on Xhaka and £35million on Mustafi, with neither living up to expectation, the Gunners could look to move them both on in the summer.
Arsenal look almost certain for a squad overhaul this summer after an extremely disappointing season currently leaves them sitting sixth in the Premier League table, relying on Europa League success to get them playing back in the Champions League next season.
