Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry has urged the club to do what it can to sign Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante, via the Metro.
The midfielder is having a superb first season in the Premier League after joining Leicester City from Caen for a mere £6m. His performances for Claudio Ranieri’s men has seen him win a spot in the 2016 PFA team of the year and that hasn’t gone unnoticed as big club’s are set to tempt the midfielder away from the King Power stadium.
Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign the midfielder and Henry believes the Gunners should try and sign the French international ahead of its rivals.
The team have fallen short of the Premier League title race for the 12th consecutive season and Henry believes Kante and a world class striker could change the situation for us next term.
‘It looks like Arsenal can and should finish in the top four, but there is something to look forward to, and that’s next season,’ Henry told Sky Sports.
‘If [Alexis] Sanchez can perform the way he’s performing at the minute, and we have Mesut Ozil carrying on giving the assists he’s been giving since the start of the season, then you can think if you have that striker who can score in that moment – maybe N’Golo Kante [as well], we have lots of names we can throw around.
‘[Riyad] Mahrez also was linked, but its going to be a very busy summer for Arsene because you need to get that excitement back and the fans to look forward to something for next season.’
Kante is a key member of Claudio Ranieri’s men featuring in all but one of Leicester City’s league games this season.
