Arsenal Get Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Crystal Palace Clash

Arsene Wenger has received a crucial double boost in the preparations to take on the might of Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace with English midfield duo, Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain making timely returns to the team.

The Gunners’ boss said this while giving updates on the injury status of his players and while there was some bad news about a couple of players who would not be involved in the game at Crystal Palace though they had played against Leicester (Aaron Ramsey and Hector Bellerin), Wilshere could be set to make his first appearance of the year when the Gunners line up on Saturday in one of the tastiest 3 o’clock kick offs this Saturday.

“Jack is fine.” Wenger simply stated when asked about him, per

Wilshere has completed his rehabilitation from an ankle surgery carried out after United defender, Paddy NcNair crashed into his left ankle in November and is chomping at the bit to get back into the team. The news of his impending return had been marred by the controversy in connection with a possible smoking incident in which he had been caught in a photo with a shisha pipe in hand but both manager and player have handled the issue so well that it has effectively died without much fuss.

Ramsey’s latest injury, it would seem, may be the free space for Wilshere to come back into the team though he will have his work cut out trying to convince Wenger on playing him ahead of the likes of Coquelin, Rosicky, Cazorla and Mesut Ozil who have all been brilliant since.

As for the Ox, he will not yet be in the team for the game on Saturday but Wenger did have good news on him too.

“He is close. He will join in normal training today.” Said Wenger.

That means the Gunners could have something close to a squad of perfect depth in no distant time which could be a vital possession as the challenges of the FA Cup, Champions League and the race to claim a spot in the top four would require all hands and legs to be on deck.
