Liverpool and Barcelona could rival Arsenal for the signature of Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, according to reports.
Arsenal are trying to sign Lemar but haven’t been successful because of Monaco’s reluctance to sell and Arsene Wenger’s reluctance in splashing the cash.
The Gunners have already had three bids rejected for the playmaker and are locked in talks with Monaco over the transfer of the 21 year old.
But the Daily Star are claiming Arsenal could face competition from Liverpool who are keeping an eye on the midfielder’s situation.
The report via the Daily Cannon claims Klopp sees the France International as the perfect man to replace Coutinho who is being linked with a move to Barcelona.
Some reports claim Coutinho is being lined up as a replacement for Neymar while others claim he is being considered as a successor to Andres Iniesta, whichever way, Barcelona’s interest in the Brazilian may now have an effect on our chances of signing Lemar.
Make of it what you want, the chances are that the report is false as Liverpool’s interest in Lemar depends on several moves and Barcelona securing Coutinho’s signature.
Even if it was true, Arsenal are far ahead of the Reds in the race to sign the midfielder and it will take an extra effort from Klopp’s men to sign him under our noses.
